Like Animals and Colors, the third title in this innovative series uses a single subject to introduce very young children to the world of fine art. Children features 18 beautiful paintings that illustrate the many activities in a child’s day: eating, bathing, playing, sleeping, and other events that youngsters recognize and relate to. The text is extremely concise, allowing attention to be focused almost entirely on the artwork. The artists represented span four centuries, from old masters to some of today’s most revered painters, and include Murillo, Renoir, John Millais, and Mary Cassatt.
